Indian Institute of Technology Ropar, an institute of national importance, is in search of dynamic, tech-savvy, and committed fresh Post Graduates in Library & Information Science from recognized Indian universities to serve as Library Professional Trainees on contract basis for one year.

Duration One year from date of Joining
Essential Qualification Masters in Library & Information Science (M.L.I.Sc) or equivalent with First Class.
Desirable Experience Knowledge of computers, IT Applications in Libraries, Library Management System.
Nature of Traineeship Selected candidates will receive comprehensive exposure to the various functions and services of the Nalanda Library as part of their training and professional development. They will be required to work six days a week and must be willing to perform duties in rotational shifts, including weekends and public holidays, as assigned in accordance with the Library’s operational requirements.
Stipend

₹25,000/-

Consolidated stipend per month

Age Limit Not exceeding 26 years as on the date of walk-in-interview. Relaxation for different categories will be applicable as per Govt. of India rules. (i.e. upto age of 29 years for OBC category candidates, 31 years for SC/ST category candidates)
Selection Selection of candidates will be based on their consistent good academic record, performance in the written test, trade/practical test and personal interview.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
  • Candidates must bring their original certificates and self-attested photocopies for verification.
  • Reporting time is strictly 10:00 AM. Latecomers will not be entertained.
  • Candidates should carry a passport size photograph and updated CV/Resume.
  • Age relaxation will be applicable as per Govt. of India rules.
  • No TA/DA will be paid for attending the walk-in-interview.
  • Candidates must have a consistent good academic record.
  • The traineeship is purely temporary and does not confer any right for regular appointment.
