Job Title	Junior Library and Information Assistant
Job Location	Patiala
Reports To	Deputy Librarian
Main Purpose	To handle day-to-day technical and operational activities of the automated library and information center, including cataloguing, classification, circulation, student engagement, and resource management. Shift duties may apply.
Qualification	Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Library Science / Information Science / Documentation Science with at least 55% marks Good academic record and knowledge of library computerization
Experience	2–5 years in libraries, preferably in an engineering institution
Competency	Good communication skills (Hindi, English, and/or Punjabi) Knowledge of computer operations and library automation software
Key Responsibilities	Cataloguing, classification, labeling, and basic repair of materials Organizing and maintaining library collections Database development and indexing Assisting users in locating and retrieving materials Shelving and floor management
Self-Management	Self-motivated and team-oriented Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work under pressure and beyond official hours if needed
Compensation	Best in the sector (not a constraint for the right candidate)
