Essential Qualification Master of Library and Information Science (MLISc) from a recognized Institution/University with First Class.
Desired Skills

  • Familiarity with IT applications used in library and information services
  • Awareness of current trends and emerging technologies
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written)
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations
  • Tact, courtesy, and professionalism with users
Stipend ₹ 20,000/- per month (consolidated)
Duration Initial appointment for 6 months, extendable by another 6 months based on performance.
Nature of Training Hands-on experience in functions and services of the IIIT-Delhi Library and Information Center.
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Assist and guide users in accessing resources and services
  • Circulation activities (issue/return of materials)
  • Accessioning, classification, and cataloguing using standard tools/techniques
  • Technical processing (spine labels, due date slips, RFID tags, stickers, EM tattle tapes, stamping)
  • Organize and shelve books, journals, and periodicals
  • Handle reference and information queries
  • Support acquisitions (vendor communication, order placement)
  • Recommend titles for collection development
  • Online database searching for academic/research needs
  • Prepare subject bibliographies and reading lists
  • Any other duties assigned by the Library/Institute
Age Limit 25 years (on the last date of application)
Other Terms
  • Selection based on interview/test
  • Only eligible and shortlisted candidates will be informed
  • No TA/DA for interview/test
  • Work schedule: 6 days a week
  • Shift duty on rotation; may include Saturdays/Sundays/holidays
  • Training/Internship certificate after completion of at least 6 months
