Period of Probation: 1 Year

(a) Essential Qualification

1. A Master’s Degree from a recognized University in Library Science /Information Science/Documentation Science with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC seven point scale and consistently good academic record.
2. At least thirteen years’ experience as a Deputy Librarian in a University library or eighteen years’ experience as a College Librarian.
3. Evidence of innovative library service and organization of published work.
4. Age not less than 40 years and not more than 55 years as on 31/12/2016.

• Desirable Qualification

1. Phil. / Ph. D. Degree in Library Science/Information Science /Documentation/ Archives and Manuscript-keeping.
2. Experience in cataloguing and putting accession no. books of Science, Engineering, Arabic, Bengali, Urdu, Persian and Islamic Theology
3. Knowledge on handling Library Software like Koha and Libsys
4. Experience of setting up a Library in any academic Institution of higher education

Period of Probation: 2 Year

• Essential Qualification

1. A Master’s Degree from a recognized University in Library Science /Information Science /Documentation Science with at least 55% of the marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC seven point scale and a consistently good academic record.
2. Five years of experience as an Assistant University Librarian /College Librarian.
3. Evidence of innovative library service and organization of published work and professional commitment, computerization of library.
4. Age below 40 years as on 31/12/2016.

• Desirable Qualification

1. Phil. /Ph. D. Degree in Library Science /Information Science /Documentation/ Archives and Manuscript-keeping/ computerization of library.
2. Experience in cataloguing and putting accession no. books of Science, Engineering, Arabic, Bengali, Urdu, Persian and Islamic Theology
3. Knowledge on handling Library Software like Koha and Libsys software & setting up digital library.
