Age limit for direct recruits Not exceeding 45 years. Additional Age relaxation asapplicable to SC/ST/OBC applicants will be considered asper the Government of India norms.
Educational and otherqualifications required fordirect recruits
Essential :
(i) Master’s Degree in Library Science / InformationScience / Documentation Science or an equivalentprofessional degree with CGPA of 6.5 in 10 pointscale or at least 60% marks (or an equivalent gradein a point scale wherever grading system isfollowed) and a consistently good academic recordwith superior knowledge of computerized libraryservice.
(ii) Qualifying in the national level test conducted forthe purpose by the UGC or any other agencyapproved by the UGC.
(iii) However, candidates, who are or have beenawarded Ph.D. degree in accordance with theUniversity Gants Commission (Minimum Standardsand Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree)Regulations 2009, shall be exempted from therequirement of the minimum eligibility condition ofNET / SLET / SET for recruitment and appointmentas Assistant Librarian.
Desirable:PG Diploma in Library Automation and Networking orPGDCA or equivalent.
