Prescribed Minimum Qualification / Experience

- Master’s Degree in Library Science / Library & Information Science / Library Documentation with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade (UGC scale) obtained through a regular course and consistently good academic record as per UGC Regulations.
- At least 10 years as a Librarian at any level in a University library OR 10 years teaching as Assistant/Associate Professor in Library Science OR ten years’ experience as a College Librarian.
- Evidence of innovative library service, published work/professional commitment and experience in computerization of library systems.

- Ph.D. in Library Science / Library & Information Science / Library Documentation / Archiving and Manuscript Keeping / Computerization of Library.
- Experience in a reputed research/academic institute library at higher academic/pay levels (Level-10 and above), with minimum 3 years’ experience at Level-11 or equivalent.

Key Responsibilities (Highlights)

- Lead and manage library services and collections for research and academic community.
- Drive library computerization and digital transition — develop/host digital repositories and ensure easy access to resources.
- Support research data services, metrics and researcher visibility initiatives (profiles, repositories).
- Oversee archival/curation tasks, preservation, digitization and outreach activities.
- Provide leadership for library staff and collaborate with academic departments to enhance library support for teaching and research.
