  • Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules (AACR1): AACR1 was first published in 1967 and provides guidelines for cataloguing all types of library materials. It is widely used in North America and many other countries around the world.

  • Resource Description and Access (RDA): RDA is a newer cataloguing code that was developed to replace AACR2. It was first published in 2010 and is based on the principles of Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records (FRBR) and Functional Requirements for Authority Data (FRAD).
