A walk-in interview will be held for the following positions under a collaborative project titled ‘Two Centuries of Indian Print’, between the British Library UK, and the School of Cultural Texts and Records, Jadavpur University. The project is funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (UK).

Time and place of interview: 11 am, 13 January 2018, in the Head of the Department’s office in the Department of English, UG Arts Building, Jadavpur University

 Project fellow:

a. Essential qualifications: Candidate must have a first class MA degree, in the humanities/ social sciences/ library science/ museology etc. from a reputed university. The candidate must have knowledge of printing and publishing in Bengal. The candidate should be fluent in English and Bengali, and should have experience of creating and maintaining online sites, databases etc.

b. Desirable qualifications: Courses taken in book history/ bibliography/ palaeography/ archiving/ conservation/ piublishing; experience in digitising and creating metadata.

Duration: Sixteen months, with a possibility of extension for a year

Salary: Rs 22,000 per month (consolidated)

 

Application is to be made in the prescribed form (price Rs 50/-), obtainable from the Information Counter of the University between 11 am-4 pm. Originals of mark-sheets, certificates and testimonials are to be produced at the time of interview. No TA/ DA is admissible.
