Event Highlights

The event was graced by Dr. Praveen Charan, Director of Extension at SHUATS, who served as the Chief Guest. The program commenced with a prayer led by Mr. Navneet Hembrone, followed by a warm welcome extended to the Chief Guest and attendees by Mrs. Meenkshi Robinson.

In his address, Mr. Christofhar Sudhir George, Librarian of SHUATS, emphasized the profound contributions of PadmaShree Dr. S.R. Ranganathan to the field of library and information science. He noted that Dr. Ranganathan’s groundbreaking work in classification and indexing had a revolutionary impact on the profession.

Dr. Praveen Charan, the Chief Guest, underscored the enduring importance of libraries and library science professionals in the digital era. He remarked that despite the prevalence of the internet, libraries remain relevant as places of peace and inspiration. He also extended his greetings to all on the occasion of National Librarian's Day.

To mark the occasion, the Central Library organized a general knowledge quiz competition, which saw enthusiastic participation from students.
