Probation	2 years
Age	Minimum Age: Must have completed 21 years on the last date of Advertisement Maximum Age: Must not have completed 45 years on the last date of Advertisement Age will be calculated on the last date of the receipt of application.
PH Description	Only the candidates having a disability of OL, BL, OA, OAL, LV and HH can apply for the post and in the case of disability of 40% or more and up to 100% of LV and HH are eligible to apply for the post. (considering the modern technology)
Essential/Desirable Qualificaiton	1. A Post Graduate Degree and a Post-Graduate Degree in Library and Information Science or Library Science obtained from any of the Universities established or incorporated by or under the Central or a State Act in India: or any other education institution recognised as such or declared to be deemed as a University under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, and 2. Possess the basic knowledge of computer application as prescribed in Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967 3. Possess adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both
Experience(If any) Description	(B) (1) Have about eight years experience after obtaining the requisite education qualification on the post not below the rank of assistant director of libraries in Gujarat Libraries service, class-2; or Have about eight years experience after obtaining the requisite education qualification of Inspection and/or Administration of Libraries in Government or Local Bodies or Universities or colleges or Government undertaking Board or Corporation or Limited Company established under the Companies Act, 2013 or Registered trust or public sector or private sector organisation on the post which can be considered equivalent to the post of Assistant Director of Libraries, Class-2, in Gujarat Libraries service, Gujarat State.
Any Other Conditions	Note:- (1) ) In case of non-availability of Women candidates in the respective category, the post so reserved will be allotted to male candidates belonging to the same category. (2) Selection to the posts of unreserved Category and posts reserved for women candidates thereof as well as selection to the posts of SEBC Categories and posts reserved for women candidates thereof Shall be made on the basis of marks obtained in selection process by the candidates of respective categories and also women candidates of that category and on the basis of qualifying standard prescribed by the commission keeping in view to maintain efficiency of respective cadre/service. The candidates belonging to reserved category can apply against vacancies for Unreserved Category but the criteria will be applicable as per Unreserved Category.
