  4. Job Responsibilities:
    1. Supervision and control of Integrated Library Management System (ILMS) like VTLS & Koha.
    2. Online Access Control and Maintenance of Electronic Resources and Services.
    3. Handling procurement related activities of print resources.
    4. Supervision and Control of Institutional Digital Repository (IDR) like Dspace.
    5. Maintenance ofResearch Data Management and Services towards Open-innovation.
    6. Evaluation and Maintenance of Web-based Library Services using Innovative Technologies.
    7. Participate and organize training workshops, staff orientations, user induction meetings keeping in view of professional up-gradation and library outreach facilities.
    8. Ability to provide research assistance and handling bibliographical (publication) datasets for quantitative studies.
    9. Any other relevant jobs as assigned by the Competent Authority from time to time.

     

  5. Academic Qualification:

    Essential:

    1. Bachelor’s degree in Library & Information Science or an equivalent professional degree in documentation, information management with first class from a government-recognized university or institute.

    Desirable:

    1. Master’s degree in Library & Information Science or an equivalent professional degree in documentation, information management with first class from a government-recognized university or institute.
    2. Qualifying in the NET/SET conducted by the UGC or any other agency approved by the UGC, or a Ph.D. degree in LIS discipline is desirable.

     

  6. Experience:
    1. Minimum 10 (Ten) years of relevant experience in a professional capacity in a large technical library of an Institution of National Importance.

     

  7. Skills:
    1. Knowledge in Computerization or application of Information Technology in the Library of an academic/ research organization of repute and evidence of innovative library services.

     

  8. Age:

    Preferably below 40 (Forty) years as on last date of application.

  9. Emoluments:

    The initial consolidated emoluments would be Rs.55,000/- (Rupees Fifty Five Thousand) only per month along with other admissible benefits as per Institute’s rules. However, the salary will not be a constraint for deserving candidates. The salary will be revised annually based on performance as per Institute’s policy/norms.

  10. Other Benefits:

    Medical expenses on domiciliary treatment (OPD - Out Patient Department) for self & dependent family members within the Institute’s ceiling limit of Rs.27,000/- (Rupees Twenty Seven thousand) only per annum and yearly Mediclaim Insurance coverage for self & dependent family members upto Rs.4 Lacs (Rupees Four lacs) for hospitalization treatment. These limits are subject to revisions from time to time. Other applicable benefits like mobile reimbursement etc. will be as per the Institute’s rules.

  11. Tenure:

    This is a contractual position for a period of 03 (Three) years only. During the engagement, the candidate may opt out from service of the Institute or the Institute may terminate the engagement, by giving 30 (Thirty) days written notice by either side.

  12. GENERAL INFORMATION:
    1. Candidates on selection are required to submit relieving letter from their employer (Govt./Public sector/Private) at the time of joining the Institute, without which they will not be allowed to join.
    2. Application forms should be supported by self-attested photograph and documents in respect of qualification, experience etc., of the candidates.
    3. Age relaxation for SC/ST and OBCs is applicable as per Government of India norms.
    4. The candidates should superscribe the position applied for at the top of the envelopes containing the application form.
    5. Candidates applying for more than one post should apply separately for each post along with separate submission of application fees.
    6. The prescribed qualification is the minimum and mere fulfilling the minimum essential qualification will not entitle an applicant to be called for test/interview.
    7. Degree as referred above should have been awarded by a recognized University/Institute.
    8. Candidate should submit a certificate from the employer/competent authority that no vigilance/disciplinary case is either pending or contemplated against him/her.
    9. Competent authority may relax the age and experience in deserving cases.
    10. Any subsequent amendments/modifications etc., if any, will be notified in the Institute’s website (www.iimcal.ac.in) and may be referred by the interested candidates.
    11. Application fee of Rs.200/- (Rupees Two hundred) only should be submitted in the form of demand draft in favour of “Indian Institute of Management Calcutta” payable at Kolkata. For Online Bank Transfer, Bank Details may be found as attached. SC/ST/PWD/Female candidates will not be required to submit the application fee.
    12. No interim queries will be entertained.
    13. The authority reserves the right to reject/accept any/all candidature without assigning any reason.
    14. Out stationed candidates shortlisted for personal interview would be reimbursed to and fro AC II tier train fare as travelling allowance on submission of bills.
    15. Incomplete applications or applications without self-attested copies of certificates / testimonials or received after the last date are liable to be rejected.
