| Essential Qualification | A. EDUCATIONAL (i) Bachelor’s Degree in the Tamil Language from a recognized University or equivalent (ii) Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Library Science of a recognized University/Institute or equivalent. Note Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission for reasons to be recorded in writing, in case of candidates otherwise well qualified. B. EXPERIENCE Two years’ experience in a recognized Library or two years’ experience in computerization of a recognized library or Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application from a recognized institute or equivalent. Note The qualifications(s) regarding experience is/are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for reasons to be recorded in writing in the case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes if, at any stage of selection, the UPSC is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the vacancies reserved for them. |
